Gloria’s Dream Tree increases social impact and lifts up Indigenous people and communities.

January 27, 2024 - Edmonton. The CommAlert Group soft-launched its Corporate Social Responsibility division, Reconciliation365, on January 27th. Later named Gloria’s Dream Tree, this new foundation focuses on Indigenous social enterprise opportunities throughout Turtle Island. We do this by creating meaningful partnerships with organizations and communities.

We want to create meaningful and sustainable ways to engage with and promote economic reconciliation. Gloria’s Dream Tree will help organizations, communities, leaders, and businesses achieve several of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

“Since the start of the pandemic, I’ve explored how Indigenous principles of exchange and giving back can be worked into everyday business activities. This can strengthen economies in the most surprising ways,” said Tim Carwell, a citizen of Beaver First Nation, Founder of Gloria’s Dream Tree and CEO of The CommAlert Group. “This initiative can create pathways that bring greater understanding to this community-building approach.”

“We are seeing outrageous acts of economic reconciliation through this way of thinking and doing. Through story-telling, knowledge sharing and investments, we are fulfilling real acts of reconciliation. We are strengthening Indigenous communities and enterprise,” said Tim.

Attendees of the soft-launch event on January 27, 2024, at the Oilers Hall of Fame in Roger’s Place, amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton), Alberta.

What is Gloria’s Dream Tree?

Gloria’s Dream Tree is a social enterprise that encourages organizations and individuals to participate in cultural and economic reconciliation. We provide sustainable ways for people and businesses to engage in reconciliation, strongly focusing on Indigenous storytelling, language and culture.

Partners with Gloria’s Dream Tree can contribute to the Amplify Reciprocity fund, or investors can participate in an immersive experience through an Indigenous luxury camping retreat that helps fund our key projects.

Funding will support important programs that invest in Indigenous social enterprise and lift up Indigenous businesses, artists, and projects throughout Turtle Island. Our core focus areas include Learner Investments, Knowledge Investments, Goodwill Projects, and the Indigenous Centres of Excellence.

We want to build an inclusive and diverse community! That means we seek partnerships with folks from all walks of life. Partners could include artists, entrepreneurs, academics, athletes, governments, business leaders and philanthropists - Indigenous and non-Indigenous.
