Sponsoring local athletes at the North American Indigenous Games 2023

We were proud to sponsor two athletes in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) in the summer of 2023. This event took place in Halifax, NS. It brought together over 5,000 athletes between the ages of 13 and 19, plus coaches and team staff from over 750 Indigenous nations across Turtle Island!

Team Alberta – Archery

We were cheering for Nikkita Beaver-Ear, competing with Team Alberta in Archery at the NAIG. Nikkita is from the Chiniki First Nation, west of Calgary, Alberta, in Treaty 6. Nikkita joined an after-school archery program the year before. At age 15, she shot for a top spot among some of Norther America’s best young archers. Read Nikkita’s story.

Team Alberta – Volleyball

We also supported Savannah Lambert on Team Alberta U19 Female Volleyball. Savannah is a citizen of Beaver First Nation, located near Fort Vermillion, Alberta, in Treaty 8. We were proud to support an athlete from our own community and nation! The team took home a bronze medal at the games! Way to go!

NAIG brings together Indigenous Nations to celebrate, share, and reconnect through sport and culture. We are proud to be a part of it and cheer our athletes on!
