The Goodwill Project Continues!
Free office and studio space for young startups and Indigenous artists.
In 2022, The Goodwill Project gifted a local startup our downtown Edmonton office space on Jasper Avenue for two years – for free. The recipient was RUNWITHIT Synthetics, a Metis tech startup.
Here’s what RWI Synthetics told CTV News:
“It made a huge difference for us in how we were able to grow in the region,” said Myrna Bittner, CEO of RunWithIt Synthetics, adding her firm is grateful to CommAlert and is paying it forward by helping non-profits such as United Way.
“Being on the receiving end of such a generous gift makes you feel compelled to help others.”
Two years later, RUNWITHIT Synthetics was ready to move on. We decided to give the space to the next generation of entrepreneurs for the summer. Our goal was to open the doors to Generation Z and let them create, innovate, collaborate, and contribute to the future of the tech industry.
In addition, we welcomed Indigenous artists to the space to create and teach. We wanted to do this in the Indigenous way, led by Elders from Treaty 6.
“I’m First Nation, so gift-giving, sharing, storytelling and supporting youth is sort of our culture,” Carwell told CTV News.
